Masterflow manufacture a range of tank related products for storage, pressurizing and treatment of water in open and closed systems. From the smallest 2 litre Aquaflex expansion tank to a 70,000 litre Aquazone thermal storage tank we are well placed to solve fluid challenges facing design engineers today. A variety of construction materials are available depending on the application.
We cherish our reputation and ability to custom build a tank to your specific requirements, however challenging your application may be. Our engineering team offer flexibility and versatility in design of either an existing tank in our range or from initial concept, to ensure your requirements are satisfied and within your budget. Our production team strives to meet the deadlines agreed to. Highly qualified technicians in our service team provide excellent after-sales service for commissioning and maintenance of all supplied equipment. Any tank from our range can be modified and supplied as suitable for storage of other liquids other than diesel and with different pump requirements. Epoxy lined tanks are suitable for storing corrosive liquids, i.e. Ad-Blue, anti-freeze, coolants, glycol, etc. An optional “Quality Control” certificate can be supplied for the application. They can be fitted with a range of fuel temperature control devices. Level switching devices for alarms or communication level indicators can be installed to meet your specific requirements. Contact our specialist division to discuss how we can help fulfil your needs.
Masterflow’s range of GRP Sectional Panel Tanks are constructed of panels made from SMC (Sheet Moulding Compound). These are created using a hydraulic hot press under high temperature (150°C) and pressure conditions to maintain the best endurance. Using stainless steel for the interior structure and plated steel for the exterior, the panel exhibits excellent resilience to corrosion. Installation time on site is kept to a minimum, and due to the available configurations, can be utilised in many different applications, however tight or difficult the surrounding environment is. Furthermore, for chilled water applications, Masterflow offers a pre-insulated panel for reducing the heat loss during system operation.
Accommodating expansion in any piping circuit can be done with an open type tank or a closed tank. The Masterflow OET Feed & Expansion tank are the open type which means they are open to atmosphere and thus known also as atmospheric expansion tanks or Open Expansion Tanks (OET). They perform the dual function of “feeding” fresh water into the circuit to replenish it after losses and accommodation of any expansion in the system. The water level in the tank will rise and fall according to the expansion. The make-up or Feed function is performed through the side entry float valve which is connected to the main supply allowing fresh water into the tank as the level falls. Open type Feed Tanks must always be installed about a metre above the highest point which in some cases is a challenge and is one reason why they have become less popular in recent times
Aquaflex Expansion Vessels incorporate a diaphragm/bladder arrangement which provides a flexible barrier between the system fluid and the precharged air in the vessel. As the system water expands, the bladder also expands, pushing against the precharged air cushion. This is how the expansion is accommodated in a closed-loop system. The NR vessels are fitted with a relief valve preset to 3 Bar. The F and R series vessel’s are not fitted with relief valves. Pressure setting must be specified when ordering.
Buffer vessels with capacities ranging from 100 Litres to 100,000 Litres Aquazone buffer vessels are designed for chilled water systems with insufficient water volume capacity. These systems require additional ‘buffer’ capacity to prevent problems, such as excessive compressor cycling, poor temperature control and erratic system operation. By incorporating a buffer tank to the system, it creates extra volume and provides additional ‘buffer’ capacity, eliminating rapid cycling of the chillers and other issues. Masterflow Solutions offers Aquazone buffer tanks, designed to AS 1210 Unfired Pressure Vessels, Hazard Level E, and made to suit your specific requirements.
